Capsule Collection OPEN THE WINDOW for Mark Cross 2022
The ''OPEN THE WINDOW'' Capsule Collection, designed by Hélène Nepomiatzi for Mark Cross is inspired from the iconic Alfred Hitchcock movie REAR WINDOW in which Grace Kelly wore a bag of Mark Cross.
The collection is playing with the typical symbols of New York. Patches in shapes of bricks and buildings remind to the history of the brand. In order to create a 3D effect, three know-hows of embossing, printing and cut-outs are applied to the leather of the bags. The bag labels are new interpreted in a couture spirit and are made of silk satin. In every single bag the label gets hand stitched.

The Building Tote Bag
The Building Tote available in leather, canvas, satin or mirror, features an appliqued leather panel screenprinted with the building motif, an external pocket, designed to resemble an apartment tower in the dark. Through the windows, a few lights even appear to be illuminated, a secondary cleverly disguised internal pocket. This tote bag playfully captures the voyeuristic element that is both so palpable in Rear Window and so unavoidable in a place like New York City (Mark Cross's home). The Open the Window bag pays homage to the iconic Rear Window Overnight Case, specially commissioned by Alfred Hitchcock for Grace Kelly to carry in the eponymous film. This brand-new design is a modern evolution of this signature bag. An Italian calfskin paneled exterior hides a zipper compartment and satin-lined interior, which easily holds all to go from day to night.
